I tried to give an old company with a bad reputation a new chance hoping with time it had changed. I had thought good of their owner once a friend. When we recently needed HHC for my Mom after a hospital stay in October 2023. One of the main purposes of "Home Health" is being able to be assessed by a nurse in the home especially afterhours in order to aid in prevention of hospitalizations &/or rehospitalizations. Both applied to my mom.. The nurses have the capabilities of communicating with the patients doctor to keep them safely treated in the home if possible. The very few times we called for a nurse after hours the message by their answering service was delivered to the on call a remote RN out of area who never called us back. The next day their response was "well we cant get an order on the weekend for a UA" ??? So 1st off yes you most definately can & you most certainly could have at least called me and came out to check on her especially the last time we called. Instead she got worse & suffered a traumatic fall where she my 73 y/o mom & my 83y/o dad both layed in their kitchen floor together crying because they couldn't get her up and my son had to come help get her to the hospital. That last time I called in attempt to get anurse visit I specifically requested a returned call from the on call nurse they said nothing they could after hours not even a nurse visit. Once her fall happened & she was admitted we had made sure her nurse & the office weretold we were discharging them & not to return. They failed to honor our wishe because then they tried to sneak around her Dr & myself to start her care/services back with them.once discharged from snf I immediately called Mays office and told them not to put that paperwork thru to resume her care as we had her discharged and had a different home health they still did not honor our wishes again did it anyways and tried tose & they completed a resume of care to their services. Still a 3rd time tried to send their nurse back. I think I finally said do not call, don't come here just leave us alone!!. Thiswas preying on my elder parents confusion. They did not understand and I am Livid. I will never recommend this company again. They either have poor communication in this office or idk what to say but.i would give 0 stars if I could as it was not just the on call with issues.she was supposed to have a bath aid & a physical therapist yet were verseen them just barely anurse 10 minutes once a week. EVERYTHING would be okay today had they really knew her issues & causes of her past hospitalizations therefore an order in place to get a U A / s&s of a UTI would have been a HUGE help! If that's not their way fine contact the Dr get and order & GO SEE THE PATIENT. When a person has has chronic recurrent uti's often resistance to most antibiotics time is of the essence the sooner the ua the sooner the c&s. Our family has been traumatized.. do BETTER!
