Have been on home health care for 3 weeks. Had to ask for a new case manager cuz mine didn't even care enough to order supplies. When I called the after hours cuz they had sealed my stoma shut they sent someone that . I have a wound vac and ostomy and you have to change both cuz they are so close together but she didn't. Another time I called after hours cuz my wound vac wasn't working cuz of to .any leaks they sent a hospice nurse who didn't even know how to use the supplies my daughter had to show her. Got my wound vac off yesterday so now it's just wound dressing. I wake up this morning and my dressing had dropped and you could see underneath so I call them at 7:45am. Guy called me back told me to hang tight and watch Netflix and they would be calling me in a bit. 4 hours later I look down and notice my wound bandage is completely saturated with stool. I called them again freaking out as I should. Still an hour later and no one called. I called several more times. It's 2:30pm and I'm still waiting for them to come. I've been laying here with everything uncovered cuz I pulled everything apart for 3 hours trying to catch liquid stool non stop. I guess a large stomach wound filled with fecal matter isn't an emergency.

My mother was release from the hospital on Thursday and told home health would be at our home on Friday. Friday we called and said needed an intake interview. Did that. Then told would be here on Monday. Now it’s Monday and they won’t be here til Friday. So over a week without home health.

I don't mind the sporadic unscheduled appointments since I'm homebound anyway. What I do mind is being rushed out of the program within 60 days despite needing care for 90 days or more. They say it's an insurance issue, but they obviously never bothered trying to extend my home care out for longer, because I checked with my insurance and they have no limit on the duration needed. If the doctor says 60 days, they approve 60 days. If the be doctor says 120, they authorize that... In my case, the surgeon explicitly stated I needed to continue receiving home care and went out of her way to specifically order that, only for them to tell me no, because insurance won't pay... That's a lie. They just don't want to deal with extra paperwork. These guys did the same thing to me back in 2018 back when I needed in-home physical therapy; they cut me off at 60 days prior to my insurance even authorizing out-of-home therapy, resulting in about a 3-4 month gap in my recovery plan that I was blamed for later on despite it being their fault. Now I have a Cadillac policy; best insurance in the state... But I'm still fed this 60-day story.... Also, they were constantly trying to convince me to use sub par dressings despite my explaining the only dressing that worked were the Mepilex Border 6x6 patches because literally every other type of patch fell right off in a matter of minutes. Lastly, I must comment on the most insulting part of it all. They made it seem like I was going to continue receiving weekly shipments of the Mepilex patches I'd been receiving... Since my husband is able to change my dressings. Sounds great in theory. What they failed to explain was that I'd ACTUALLY be receiving just one shipment of 12 patches that are actually some generic knockoff dollar tree quality brand patches that don't even adhere for a period of 3 hours, let alone 3 days. I've already ripped through 4 of these garbage quality dressings in under 36 hours, so it's pretty impossible to avoid an infection at this rate. And when I called to complain, all I was told was that they couldn't do anything about it because I had been discharged.... They made it seem like it was going to be a partial discharge. Never once did they mention that I would be left high an dry with zero medical supplies and without any notice. They obviously only care about money here. some of the nurses mean well and a few are quite knowledgeable, but whoever is working in procurement and cutting corners needs to be fired and maybe experience a little bit of karma for a change. Quality assurance and patient care clearly takes the back burner here. The Administrators ought to be ashamed.

Was rushed in to this hospital by ambulance last night. This was the worst treatment I have ever received in a health care facility.! The doctor was rude and had attitude because after me explaining the history of my knee problem. I was in so much pain and crying so I tried my best to explain it. He got an attitude and was like “none of that makes sense”. Then when he came in after the X-rays he said I’m gonna have to stand and walk on my leg. Made me get it out of the bed. I was screaming and crying in pain. He did not help me at all then left me there crying! He didn’t even try to shift me back into bed.! He literally left me there crying and screaming. No pain management or anything. They gave me lorazepam…. Now on my way to a different urgent care facility because something is wrong and im still crying in pain. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE.

Failed Communication. Not one care provider that visits the house knows what the other is doing. Sad. I called intake to tell them patient was transported back to the hospital for sepsis. Wound care stayed they spoke to wife and reported possible infection to wound. Untrue I was not home. Renter to the hospital is a fail for home health. Don’t leave your partner that is receiving home care alone for any amount if time. Praying for my husband to not have his leg amputated.
