No communication with clients when caregiver does not show up to take care of my mother for 2 hours once a week.

First off for Andrea who wrote a previous review, thank you for your kind words. I hope this message finds you well. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Meeting people in the field is the reason I am giving Medstaffers any rating at all. As far as pay, management and opportunities go whether you are a LPN CNA or HHA you will do better elsewhere.

It has been a joy working with the Medstaffers team. It took two stressful years to get approved for home health care. My care giver is my sister. It only took a week once my service coordinator came for the intake until Jim was here to finish up the paperwork and getting my sister paid. He was so gratious and caring. I highly recommend them.

I have been with Medstaffers for a Year. I am a spinal cord injury patient. I depend on the agency to give me all the information I need in the time they received it. I am absolutely appalled by their line of communication. On numerous accounts I was called right at the time my aide was to show up that I would have no one to take care of me that day that my aide called off the day before and i am just now hearing about it. Up to 12 hours later. I have medical concerns that require I have coverage everyday every 2-3hours. Without it I would have to be admitted into a hospital. So I am now at 7 am calling everyone I know personally whom already is at work or has prior engagements that absolutely cannot be cancelled to take off and come take care of me for the day. This is unacceptable. They have lied to me about why my aides could not come they have lied about trying to find me coverage for a shift. There are times one person from the agency will call saying they found someone to cover a shift to find out later that the person they sent was unqualified and would not or could not meet my needs to be stranded without help. I was in a nearly fatal car accident resulting in my injury and They have sent me aides who just received their license to drive to take me to a doctors appointment. Luckily i have an amazing Aide that does everything she can past her responsibilities to make up for the terrible company she works for. If you have a choice in an agency please do your research before choosing or you may end up screwed.

We contacted MedStaffers to provide Personal Attendant Service for a disabled adult male who requires 24 hour staffing. We were trying to fill an afternoon/evening shift. The intake nurse who did the intake was very professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about her work. They hired 2 attendants. One of the attendants never showed up to work and the other was injured in an auto accident and was not able to return after 3 days. MedStaffers has no back-up program if an attendant cannot or does not show up. You are on your own. This was not made very clear during the intake process and we only found out after the no-show on day 3. They were never able to hire a single person and left the shift unfilled for over a month. Each week we checked in several times to see when staffing would be provided and was always told “We have a candidate that we are getting paperwork for ....”. No one ever showed up. I received a call on a Monday that they had an “Eager to work” candidate that could be starting in a week. The next week, I received a certified Service termination notice in the mail. No phone call, no heads up. I find that to be the most dissapppinting part of my experience with this company. After a month of patiently waiting and hoping for some relief (working a full time day job and then another 8hr attendant shift) we were really hoping that they would come through. Instead we were just strung along and eventually dropped without a phone call. If you have a family member that needs attendant service, I would consider the “no-backup” policy of MedStaffers unacceptable. Once your attendant stops working, you will be out of luck and in your own.
