I think its important to note that many of the reviews here are addressing things like the food choices being tone-deaf, or the interview process, which are not relevant to the level of care patients receive at Redstone. If you focus on the more recent reviews for patient care they are largely positive. Its ok for people to be upset but its really not an accurate review of the actual service. In that regard, our experience with my moms care has been fantastic. She is currently recovering from a hip fracture here. She has been at a few facilities in Western PA over the past few years, and this is far and away the best. The staff are all incredible and very attentive. They make my mom laugh, and deal with stressful situations with grace and humor. I love ALL the aides but Kandi, Sam, Kelly and Breanna have really stood out to us. I actually enjoy going in every day to see them while my mom is there. The facility is beautiful and except for the rare room, odor does not waft into the halls. Only so much you can do with regular incontience after all. The campus is really beautiful. We love that they have a courtyard with butterflies, flowers and bird feeders right outside their rooms, and that they have the option for religious services and a lovely chapel for patients who are interested. There are also lots of other regular activites. The food has oscillated between ok and great, which we were pleasantly surprised by. Its worth noting that I wondered why it is so much better, and I learned through research that Redstone is the rare facility that staffs not only above state-required minimums, but at 2x the required state minimum. This means less overwork for and less stress on the staff, and it shows in their demeanor and attention to the patients. At previous facilities my mom was left alone for hours of the day, despite their glossy appearance. Here, she rarely waits but a couple minutes for care. 5* across the board for the team here. I hate that she has to be in a facility but this is the best around by far.

I went to visit a family friend and during my visit I seen they had "Soul Food" at the bistro... IT WAS THE MOST RACIST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! Fried chicken, greens and watermelon!!! Are you kidding me!!!! You claim you wanted to celebrate black history month, but this is not celebrating. This is profiling! Could you imagine if they wore sombreros and had taqitos and hot sauce and during Hispanic heritage month, like that's not celebrating heritage, that's profiling. Instead they could talk about history, talk about MLK, Rosa parks, Dorothy Vaughn, Mae Jemison, James Derham. Like make a nice pamphlet, teach culture and history. I'm not even African American and I found what they did extremely distasteful! Spread knowledge not ignorance! It's not hard, have common sense! It's 2025!

My grandmother is 92 and was recently hospitalized with Covid-19, then pneumonia, so she was started on hospice, which is how Redstone entered the situation. We have two dogs who are crazy high energy and I told them it gives me anxiety when strangers come over because the dogs go insane. I believe it was Jill who went out of her way to make sure all the home care nurses and aids would walk in without knocking so the dogs wouldn’t get out. They are always available if needed and they are just great, all of them! So, I would highly recommend Redstone!

I would give Redstone Highlands Greensburg 10 stars if I could. Trying to find a suitable skilled nursing facility for a loved one is a very stressful process, especially when the hospital is trying to push any old place on you just to get the patient out of their hospital. The list I was given of skilled facilities had places flagged for abuse or with recent customer reviews showing a drastic lack of attention paid to patients. Redstone was not on their list, but I was familiar with the facility, so I pushed for it. While the hospital was no help, two employees at Redstone were extremely helpful in trying to place my loved one. I am forever grateful because his experience was top notch. Everyone on his care team was so attentive not only to him, but to myself and my other family member who were the proxys for his care. We regularly received status updates, care plans and phone calls when there were updates or medications needed from us. Whenever he'd call for something, a nurse would be right there to help him. The facility was very clean and smelled clean (for a nursing home), he said all of the food was good and some of it was down right excellent, and there was a robust calendar of events for every day. I cannot thank Redstone enough for treating our family member with respect and compassion during a very difficult time. I hope we don't need another facility like this but if we do, I will fight like hell to make sure my family goes to Redstone in Greensburg.

I'd first like to say thank you to all of the Nursing Instructors at Westmoreland County Community College. They're all wonderful people to know. They advised my family to admit our mother to Redstone Highlands Rehabilitation Center because of their excellent care, professional staff and cleanliness of the Facilities. I must say that the Nursing Instructors at WCCC did not disappoint us with their advice. Redstone's Facilities was very clean. Thank you to Environmental Services and everyone in their Facilities Department! Our mother told us that the food they served was very good as well. Thank you to their Culinary staff! The Nurse's and Clerical Staff were all very professional, polite and very knowledgeable of their jobs. They all treated our mother as though she was one of their own family members. We were all extremely pleased with everything. Thank you to everyone at Redstone! May God Bless you all! 👍
