I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking hospice care for there loved one. First when they would come to bath or take care of wounds they did not have the supplies to do the job properly, and we had to look around the house to find the things needed to complete the job. Than one day my mom woke up in pain, but she wanted to wait till the nurse came to see what see recommended. The nurse came and I inquired about starting the morphine provided by the service. She kept insisting that she was not ready and told me to give her lorazepam, an anti anxiety pill. Within 10 minutes she started having horrible hallucinations. I called her immediately to see what to do. It took about an hour to get back to me and she said she must be drug naive and it would just have to run its coarse. I asked if I should start the morphine again, and she said no, that I should just crush Tylenol in apple sauce and give it to her. this went on for eleven hours till my sons fiance, a CRNP that worked with cancer patients.came an said right away she should be on morphine. So we called the number provided to authorize the morphine. They authorized the morphine and once we gave her the morphine, she immediately calmed down and relaxed. The next day a different nurse came, thank goodness, and I told her what happened. She did not understand why she recommended the lorazepam instead of morphine either. She was very good and cleaned and attended my mom's issues. She also messaged the doctor and got my mom's morphine adjusted. I was well pleased with her. My mom passed ten hours later.

My mother is in a facility for memory care. She suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia. Homeland Hospice has been coming in to see her for 7 months now. She has Robin, Helen & Chaz who have been giving her exceptional care. They truly care about her & her needs and are in constant contact with me, which I really appreciate. I know she would not be getting the care from the facility (where she resides) without these wonderful ladies providing the care that she so needs. Thank you so much for all that you do!!

Each person from Homeland that came into my home was kind, compassionate, and gentle with my husband during the last month of his life. Nurse Helen was absolutely the best! She cared about my husband's dignity, his pain, and always had a gentle and soothing tone when she spoke to him. She also understood the heartbreak I was experiencing while watching my husband struggle with cancer. I can't thank her and the rest of the staff enough for taking such good care of him.

Selecting Homeland was the right choice and best decision for our Mom. We got an entire team, well-coordinated and actively engaged at all the right times. Every single person involved showed great compassion, provided excellent advice and guidance, and ensured the family was always involved and informed. Additionally, the team actively engaged with her personal care team at her retirement community ensuring they provided right care. The team consistently responded promptly to all requests for additional items and equipment - they were always just a phone call away. I am especially grateful when the nursing team aggressively pushed back on the retirement community in her last days when they insisted our Mom be sent to the hospital, which was obviously not practical and against her care plan. From beginning to end, we were very happy with the support to the family and the care for our Mom. Thank you Homeland Team!

My mother was discharged from the hospital to come home and begin hospice which was not the outcome we were expecting but we put on a brave face. The social worker and head nurse came out to meet the family and explain the processes of what to expect. I didn’t know what to expect but I can tell you that hearing the head nurse talk about going on her vacation for the week and that she wont be seeing me again didn’t sit well with me. There is absolutely no need for me to hear about your personal life as I just get my mother home who out of no where is now terminally ill-not to mention slap a timeline on her. It was incredibly insensitive and quite honestly tasteless. Fortunately we had a fill-in nurse that was much more compassionate and understanding. The aide was also very gentle and kind. My mother was taken care of with the upmost display of dignity when her time came. We still have not heard back about the bereavement therapy which would be helpful for some of us in the household. We miss mom so much. Despite the first encounter, I would recommend this company. Make sure you give yourself some grace and allow the social worker to help you, shes an angel.
