My parents spent 10+ years here in independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. Independent living at Longwood was fine. I would not recommend the other areas.

Top heavy on Brass, lost an incredible CEO when Paul Winkler retired. In Fairness, the Residents are an Amazing Group of Deserving and Accomplished People. Their Kindness and Ability to Tolerate the Recent Declines in Quality of Care at All Levels, has kept Longwood Going. However the Growing AWARENESS from many Families is a Representation of Things to come unless Present Management can Bring necessary facility Maintenance upgrades, increase Staff and the Pay scales for Permanent Employees can match those of much less capable and CARING Contractors. Such as in the Food services industry. Fortunately they now have RICK YELLY, A Professional and Long known Employee for His Quality Supervision of Food Services has been transferred to Longwood. I understand Money and Budgeting issues, however NONE of those are the Fault of the Wonderful Residents of Longwood. And I am Hoping Management will cut back on Brass, instead of Staff cutting the Grass, and all of the Other Previous Services promised initially to Residents . DEDICATED EMPLOYEES Are holding their Positions Hoping the Residents are taken Care of up to the Standards of Achievement and 5 star rating SO Prized by the Management and Board of Directors.

Nursing home section is horribly understaffed and, even if the workers were high quality, they don’t have time to offer proper care to residents. Unfortunately, a large segment of staff is not high quality. If you want poor care at high costs for your loved ones, Longwood will excel at meeting your needs.
