My mother died at home on June 17, 2025 with her family by her side. She was 98 years old. For the last 1 and ½ years of her life she received the services of Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice of Middletown, Rhode Island. She suffered from kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and post polio syndrome among other elderly ailments. She could not walk for these last years of her life. Despite these challenges, my mother was bright and engaging and also a bit stubborn. The visits from the nurses, CNAs, chaplains and those on the other end of the phone line gave her the support she needed to live out her last days feeling safe and dignified, It is never easy to sign up for hospice but the care my mom received was the best. We had a few nurses but _____ became my mother’s trusted friend. My mother looked forward to her visits and every problem that arose was listened to with compassion and the doctor was contacted if necessary. Our family greatly thanks ________ for the love, care and counsel she provided my mom as well as the support for myself and other family members. The CNAs were gentle and kind and respected my mother and her wants and needs. Most especially ____. A visit from her was a treat. She was so prompt, reliable, and caring. She listened to my mom when we were tired of listening to her. Our family greatly thanks ______ and the other CNAs for their kindness and care. Everytime I called Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice either during business hours or in the evening or on weekends we got prompt service. Prescriptions were quickly called into the pharmacy and it was a stress-free and attentive process. Dr. _____ was easily reached by the nurses. There was never a time we felt that our needs were not being listened to and addressed promptly. We had a few visited from the chaplain and we appreciate his visits. Also, I was contacted by the social worker and felt supported by her as well. At the end of my mom’s life a nurse visited that morning. With the assistance of the fire department (the nurse’s suggestion) we moved her from her recliner to the hospital bed. She died peacefully that afternoon. All during the day I was communicating with VNHH offices and nurses and felt very prepared and supported. I am grateful to Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice for supporting our family and helping my mom die in the safety and comfort of her own home. It was their care that made this possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would highly recommend this agency.

This agency has cared for both my parents. The nurses and therapists that have cared for my Mom gave her exceptional care. They went above and beyond to assist in her recovery and rehabilitation. My Dad was a hospice patient and again received exceptional care. The nurses were so compassionate and kind. They made us feel at ease which enabled us to keep our Dad at home until he passed. His CNA was always wonderful and kept him laughing until his final days.

Horrible experience with this service. They lack communication and asked the same traumatic questions every time they visited my mother in law. They showed up without confirmation several times. The day my mother in law passed away, they sent a nurse over (presumably to be there for us), and she spoke the entire time, gave us her entire life story and dating history, wouldn’t stop talking about other clients who had passed, and lacked any sense of professionalism. It was a crucial time and this nurse spoiled the moment, made the worst day of my partner’s life that much worse. Please DO NOT use this service. You will regret it.

They definitely make you feel like you work for them. Crucial time in my mother's life and they come on their schedule, not hers. 51% my own fault I trusted they were providing all Mom is entitled to, now that I've been to medicare.gov and followed up with Visiting Nurses I feel like they're still not going to be doing all that medicare pays them for. Holiday week so I will wait and see what transpires next week and upgrade or downgrade my review as appropriate.
