The only reason I gave two stars and not one is because there was one decent nurse. The "nursing director" was rude and incredibly unprofessional. My mother was discharged with no notice and for a VERY dramatized reason, which the nursing director refused to provide more information on or to gather any information from any other people present at the time this issue occurred. She told me she did not have a supervisor, when questioned more about someone to talk to she said she would only provide the first name of the "owner" and no contact info, but would give him a message. This person is not the owner, and there are many people that a patient should be able to speak with when the so called nursing director blocks further communication with the agency. Additionally, she refused to provide records or info on how to request any of the records and instructed me to go through the new hospice for Ranier's medical records since I had signed a release for them. Absolutely lacking professionalism or care. Other nurses ignored requests of power of attorney, and changes in visiting nurse were not communicated. Around the time this happened, it just happened to be told to me that they had more patients that had come onto their caseload (and we were not in the primary area that they were). Seems convenient. There are more details, but they will be provided in a formal complaint. I would worry if there were no family members to advocate for a patient in their care. Them dumping my mom's care with no notice ended up being the best thing that could have happened, because we were connected by my mom's provider, to an OUTSTANDING Hospice Agency, Gilead. My mom has since passed and although the whole experience with Ranier was frustrating to say the very least, and traumatic to be more honest, I am so very glad that they were not in charge of her care at the very end of her life.

Do not use this company for hospice. They undermedicated my mother for sedation transport then failed to install a bed alarm on her bed. You're better off with no hospice than this hospice. It got worse once she got to the facility. Other hospices kept oxygen on site at the nursing home, in case one of their patients needed it. Not Rainier. When my mother's oxygenation was dropping, she had to wait until the next day to get oxygen. Later, when she needed morphine, they had difficulty keeping enough filled syringes available. Do yourself a favor and find ANYONE ELSE rather than hiring this company to care for your loved one.

My mother was under her care from the beginning of her terminal diagnosis. They saw her through to her final journey with genuine affection, respect and dignity. And they were astute in balancing pain medication with upholding the best possible quality of life.

The healthcare providers they select are excellent. They clearly hire the best-of-the-best. That's why 4 stars, that's the most important thing. However, I might be reluctant to use them again because their administrative system is poor (a 1 star). You need to answer your phone! You need to provide an email address! No I don't want you to call me back when it is convenient to you, I want you to answer my questions when I call, because I call at a time that it is convenient to ME, the patient. At other times, I sleeping, or having medical care. And, if you can't do that, then at least provide an email address so that I can write out my inquiry at the time that is convenient to me for you to attend to when it is convenient to you. The left hand and the right hand do not communicate with each other at Rainer. These comments are based on 3 months worth of contacts. I was not a singular, isolated incident. Such a shame.
