Elara was very helpful in such a painful time and process. The representative, Kasie Dykes was wonderful in explaining the process and providing support. Only recommendation is that initial nurse visit could be more productive if training for family would be completed.

I would like to extend my gratitude to Kasie-Account Services, Flora-Nurse, Mikell-Aid, Tiffany-Social Worker, Chaplin Tom, Cydney, Abby, and the entire team at Elara Care for providing my mother with the care and attention she requires and deserves. We recently transitioned from another hospice company due to their inability to provide adequate support, including failing to send an aid to assist with bathing for nearly six weeks and not providing necessary supplies. Caring for a loved one can be challenging enough without the added stress of dealing with an understaffed and poorly managed hospice organization. My beautiful Mom has been with Elara Care for over a month now and I am confident and grateful that she is in caring and capable hands!

Awful experience. Never got a case manager or nurse who was familiar with my Dad. Lots of excuses about being understaffed and staff wasn’t through with training. If you’re understaffed, don’t take on new patients. Phone numbers were wrongly transcribed and given to nurse by receptionist. When my Dad passed, we waited for several hours before hospice nurse arrived to declare death. We were familiar with Elara because of the PT/OT and thought highly of them. Expected the same from Hospice Care but did not receive anything comparable to that level of care. Use another company! Anyone besides Elara!!!

I looked past some of the negative reviews and decided to give them a shot because Houston Methodist recommended them. I promise you it’s not worth even attempting to work with the Elara. From having the initial person try to push my mom into a house, lying about discharge placement and “attempted” price changes for housing. Then having no updates about transport from hospital or arrival to assisted living facility. Then being told the employees from City Ambulance that they used for transport were so rough on my mom it made the nurse in charge of the facility report them. Then having after hours nurse call me asking what medical equipment my mom needs. Her facility reached out to Elara bc my mom was experiencing issues. She had no clue who my mom was, what she needed, where she was and said she has no way of accessing the information needed to take care of my mom. Then she got mad that I said I have no idea how I’m going to tell you what medical equipment to bring since I’m not in the medical field and she hung up on me. Then Zero update from that situation as my mom’s dying…This is the condensed version of everything. The two stars are for a few of the people who obviously cared… No need for a cheesy “sorry we care reply”… spend that time fixing the issues y’all obviously have…
