IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD… Save yourself or your loved one from a HORRIBLE experience. VETERANS BEWARE and families caring for loved ones SKIP THIS PLACE. Hopefully this review will help others avoid a bad experience. My father gets VA benefits and Southern Care came highly recommended but unfortunately THEY DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE RECOMMENDATION AT ALL. They NEVER schedule their nursing visits or therapies and will call 5 mins before, if that, to see if it’s ok to come. My Dad is recovering from a massive stroke and needs constant care. Two out of the 3 providers they sent were not consistent or reliable. One quit the company entirely and another just doesn’t show up or call. And the person in charge of provider services is named Rudy and he never returns phone calls and doesn’t notify when a provider cannot make it and they make no effort to send other providers to cover the hours either. The owner is named Martha and she is a nurse for the company as well and was also rude when I asked if she could come back when my mom was home because my mom had a lot of concerns with my fathers care. One provider was exposed to COVID and had a family member test positive for COVID. We requested that that provider be replaced for at least two weeks and Southern Care REFUSED and then continually reminded us that we have the “right” to choose another agency. Southern Care is clearly not compassionate or understanding when it comes to my Dad who we really need help caring for. He is bed bound and requires constant assistance. We explained over and over that only my mom and I are caring for him at this time and we really needed consistency from them to which they pretty much responded “take it or leave it”
