Prestige Homecare of Spring If you are considering using Prestige Homecare to meet the needs of your loved one, let me encourage you to continue considering them but with these facts from our recent experience. 1. The “face” of Prestige is Ms. Kierra Reynolds. She is as sweet and nice as can be & you will enjoy visiting with her. She does listen & tries to find an appropriate “match” for you. 2. When you are told that they are “bonded,” be sure that you know what that means. When one of their employees stole from my family, we were told that this “bonding” only extended to the one under their care, not to others who might live in the house. Mother’s loss was returned by the individual, but her other caregiver lost $1,700 and they said that their bond did not cover that. If we wanted this covered, then it would be our responsibility to file on our Home Owner’s Insurance. 3. When we insisted on having our own background check in the future, we were begrudgingly told that this was acceptable. The first time we tried it, the employee had 11 traffic arrests and a charge for “theft greater than $100 & less than $700.” When I brought this up, I was told that they used a third party for background checks & that they were simply told that, “This person is eligible for hire,” or “not eligible” -- nothing more. Evidently what we found was not enough to disqualify the individual from being recommended for my mother’s care! I suggested that they might want to use someone else for a more thorough background check and was told that they were satisfied. 4. Since our family continues to require a more specific background check we have been told that Prestige cannot continue to serve our family and we must look elsewhere. They are great at what they do and could not be better at it! It just seems that we wanted a different level of service and they were not interested in working with us. Thank you, E.B. Beasley, Jr.
