Absolutely horrible service, they say they will call to check on patient during the week and they never have. They never check my wife’s wounds from hip replacement or back surgery and in the letter they sent they say it’s a service they provide and do when they come to our home. They check vitals that’s about 2 minutes and then 10 minutes on tablet then they leave. They was to also PT for wife’s hip and I was told they was staffed up enough so it probably wouldn’t happen. They get fired on next visit 02/06/23

I am in my hometown to visit my parents for a week, and my father is experiencing diabetic neuropathy which requires regular wound checks and dressing changes for his feet. I was present when Nina arrived and was able to observe her interactions with my (at times) very stubborn father. Today’s nurse, Nina approached the entire experience with calm professionalism, kindness, and education. She answered his and my questions and provided a lot of peace and education to help me understand what he’s experiencing and what he can do to help improve his symptoms. I live across the country and worry about my parents’ health, and knowing that they are being seen regularly by an organization that employs such kind and patient nursing staff. I can’t overstate how much peace it brings me to know that there are people who take caring for our seniors to heart. Thank you for what you do.

Fail to keep a normal schedule. They wait till the very last second to try and do recert. They violated state Medicare laws and discharged my mom from nursing and physical therapy with out the required notification on both , not only to us but to her doctor as well. Very very poor service and no lack of caring for patients.

They have local nurses we all know! They will have any and all wound care items in your house within 24hrs! That a big positive, you don't have to have someone go find the items you need and spend the cash you need at home!

I became involved with Red River Home Care through my significant other, Charles Whipkey. Charles underwent a five way heart bypass in late September of this year. After 16 days in the hospital (UT Southwestern) we were given a list of home health care agencies and chose Red River because of their 5 star rating. We went home and started occupational and physical therapy with Red River. Everything was going pretty good until Charles had his wound on his right leg open up. During his heart surgery the doctor had taken veins from his leg to use in his chest. We ended up spending a little over a week at UT Southwestern and coming home with a wound vac on his leg. Red River was now doing wound care in addition to occupational and physical therapy. This is when we started to have real problems. We asked that Red River coordinate the visits so that it did not take all day as Charles has a business to run. They managed to get the visits on the same days but never could make it not last all day. One of the other problems that we had was the nurses calling before 8am. Even after we asked them not to call before 8am they still did. The quality of care was lacking to say the least. They never had adequate supplies, would wrap his leg wrong, did not properly clean the wound and just really acted like they did not know how to do their job. One nurse even had the audacity to tell me how I should not vape. Another showed up coughing and sneezing sounding very sick. After all this and more , we were going to choose another place to receive home health from but were dismissed suddenly from care with Red River because we went shopping. On Black Friday we called at 9am to see when the nurse would be out to change his wound vac. We were told by Topher in the office that she did not know where the nurse was and that they had 2 nurses call out of work. She said she would call us back. We waited for an hour and the went to town to Home Depot. At 11am Topher called and wanted to know where we were as she had called our home number. I said we are in town shopping. She immediately freaked out saying that Charles was not home bound and they would have to dismiss him from care. After all that the nurse finally showed up about 4:30 that afternoon and changed his wound vac but did not even address the swelling in his legs or change the tubigrip wrapping on them. We will be filing a formal complaint with the Joint Commission on Red River Home Care. Red River Home Care doesn’t listen to their patients, does sloppy unprofessional care, are rude to the patient and family and are way more invasive than need be. The only professional care that he received was from the physical and occupational therapist that we saw. They were wonderful. If you have a loved one that needs home health care don’t be fooled by the supposed 5 star rating of Red River Home Care. Charles is doing better every day and will have a full recovery but this has been a hard couple of months and having to deal with Red River has been a nightmare that we just did not need.
