EXCELLENT HOME HEALTH CARE PROVIDER - HIGH SCORE IN PROFESSIONALISM & CUSTOMER SERVICE !! From management to each and every therapist and nurse, I have been very pleased. As a disabled senior citizen who has had major surgery and also is suffering with great pain for other ailments which have me waiting for more surgery, they have been helpful, compassionate, and have done their best to ease my situation. Also, because of doctor appointments and bad days where I cannot get out of bed, they have been understanding and accommodating in scheduling or, when necessary re-setting the therapy/nursing sessions. KUDOS to all. And, thank you very much !!

My husband had an RN from Amedisys Home Health Care come to care for his PICC line and draw blood every week. I am a retired RN myself and I was quite impressed with the RN who came to our house. We actually had 2 different ones who came and both were very capable and professional. We have had post-op home health care from 2 other Home Health Care agencies in the past and Amedisys was the only one that we were satisfied with. I am keeping their name and contact information, just in case one of us is in the hospital in the future and requires home health care. We will be asking for them!

The name suggests home health but if no one comes to your home, it is NO help! We have had multiple missed appointments because they are always short staffed and the office staff make promises that are not kept. Many days we waited for a nurse to show up and there is no call, no show. The nurses have all been spectacular but the patient coordinator and office staff are a joke. We have been left for over a week without services for a patient who has a pacemaker/defibrillator , also has a permanent IV going directly into his heart and a suprapubic foley that needs changing. Amedisys canceled his home health trying to push him into hospice before even having hospice paperwork signed. Now, Medicare won't put him back on home health because they preemptively took him off instead of coming to discuss Hospice. That is irresponsible, unprofessional and a disgrace to people who need assistance. I absolutely would NOT recommend this service to ANYONE. There is no point in responding to this review because I have had enough of the "empty" and insincere apologies from your staff that have made nothing better. The other responses on reviews have been shallow and a way of diverting blame for a worthless service in people's time of need.

My 92-year old mother was assigned by Tricare/Medicare to this useless home health service following a gynecological surgery for cancer on 12/09/2021 for follow-up surgical care. There have been 2 home visits since where the "nurse" came out and took my mother's vitals (blood pressure, temperature, history). They were supposed to coordinate with my mom's oncology gynecologist for additional visits because of her age, medical history (prior stroke, mobility issues, essential tremor) and the fact that she had a catheter and needed follow-up surgical assistance with the area upon which the surgery was performed. As a result of ZERO REAL medical after-care, she ended up having her catheter start leaking and becoming very painful; developed kidney pain; and cellulitis (infection) in her foot; and gout (which she never had before). They were supposed to come out again for a visit and NO ONE SHOWED UP or even bothered to call. When I called the next day to relay the situation, I was assured a nurse would be out the following day. Again, NO ONE came or called. The whole reason the general public relies on services post-operatively is because THEY NEED HELP! We have utilized other home health services in the past and had no problems as they were professionals and followed through both on the care plan and all visits. Amedisys Home Health Care service is the worst! We plan on writing the insurance providers and advising the hospital case manager and doctor's office that Amedisys Home Health Care is not well-staffed and does not deliver on its promises of care.

The nurses and all staff assigned to help me with my mother were outstanding. They helped me the last 4 months my mom was alive.
