Employee showed up to my house over 45 minutes late telling me nothing of why she didn’t show up at our scheduled appointment. Just kind of blew it off when I asked for someone else to come out that would be on time that could take the seriously the director basically blew off my concern, stating that she should never have given a time in the first place. Very unprofessional company in my opinion I will use someone else. There’s plenty of them out there.

The speech therapist that worked with my mother was great, however as soon as they found out that my mother was receiving outpatient physical therapy from another company, they discharged her without discussion. We were told it was the company policy that they would not offer speech therapy if the client was receiving any other type of therapy from another company. Seems the all or nothing approach is not what is best for the client, but what they perceive as best for Ascension Home. I think they thought we'd give up a very good physical therapist to keep them. They were wrong. I would not recommend them for any therapy due to this policy.

I refuse to use this home health agency ever again! They sent a RN to our home to pull labs and do a PICC line dressing change on my husband. This RN did not wash her hands or use sanitizer the entire time I watched her. She did not use sterile technique and even donned sterile gloves over her dirty gloves. She placed a mask on my husband and when I asked her if she was going to put on a mask she answered, "I will if you want me to." I had to find and provide a mask for her as she did not have one!!! When I questioned her about her technique she stated We are home health and we aren't as sterile as the hospital." I was absolutely appalled and angered. I stated, "Sterile technique is sterile technique. I don't care where you are!!!" She started crying and stated, "You are making me very uncomfortable." I told her that my husband had just gotten over multiple infections and that line goes directly to his heart! I told her that if he gets an infection due to her incompetence I would sue her! I walked out of the room in anger and disbelief. She had threatened to just leave. She left his old dressing off while she went outside to make a call. In retrospect I wish I had just let her leave because now my husband is hospitalized again and his cardiac surgery delayed AGAIN due to klebsiella pneumonia!!! You people need to make sure your nurses know what they are doing and sterilize their hands before touching a patient! I am furious!

Very helpful. They bent over backwards to do a good job. Would certainly use Ascension again if needed. Jan Johnston

All of the nurses are outstanding. They took excellent care of my 89 year old Mother during her recovery at home. I highly recommend them.
