My dad has had brain surgery and was appointed their home care services. Worst experience working with them so far. No one has showed up for any OT or PT. The management doesn’t take your calls because they’re always in meetings. We have not been given any care plan. Do not use them for your loved ones. They will leave you high and dry and will not come to care for your loved ones. Worst experience so far.

I am currently undergoing home physical therapy and I’ve had a wonderful experience with the therapist Justin. I am learning all kinds of new exercises to help me get back to walking. The nurse Hulda has been wonderful also. I had a small hiccup with scheduling in the beginning, but Ashley quickly took care of that and continued to check on me. She went above and beyond!

Sometime at end of June or beginning of July 2025 I needed Home Health visits that would cover Nursing, PT and OT. for my 83 yr old mom who had taken a fall and had patella knee surgery and had a humerus fracture. Unfortunately, Sentara Home Health was booked up in our area and I randomly picked Pavilion to go with. I mention Sentara's services because their team is all directly hired by Sentara and they work as a team. They always schedule their visits and message me ahead of time and they have a care plan in place after first visit. They explain how they all work together to get the patient well again. They always show up UNTIL YOU ARE WELL. This is what Pavilion is not familiar with it seems. I want to say that Pavilion also has a Medical Transport business division which I used 3x and loved their service. This review is about their home health visits. So they don't have their own team, everyone is a contractor and does their own thing whenever they want. Anthem Healthkeepers had approved 12 nursing visits, 8 PT and 6 OT visits. The Nurse Came 1 time. She came the second week for 10 minutes and said thats all and said it was end of her visits. She also saw that my mom had a Pressure Ulcer on heal of foot (Quarter Size Black Circle) and saw just watch it and buy these cushions to put on her feet. If this nurse had continued to come to do her job as Medicare had allotted for she would have seen that my mom's health was not that great and that her sore would become an issue without professional help. After 2 weeks with Pavilion and the nurse not doing her job I called the Primary care doctor and sent pictures of the wound to get advice because I didn't know what to do. She quickly asked what about the nursing visits from Pavilion and I said there isn't any they just DON"T SHOW UP. She said she would send Pavilion Wound Care referral. I said okay and their wound specialist came and gave some advice and how to clean wound and said she would be back the next week. She NEVER SHOWED UP. At this point I noticed a trend with this place. I contacted Pavilion a couple of times asking what the issue is with their people not coming out enough to do their job so my mom could heal faster and be up and walking faster. They just kept saying we don't know why the nurse discharged your mom she shouldn't have. They just don't have good management of their team at this company. The wound became worse and has now become infected despite my best efforts to continually keep the area clean and bandaged. I blame this solely on Pavilion home health and their failure to do their work in the beginning of the process when my mom was brought home. Their PT came only 1x a week and came only 6x and not 8x as provided by medicare. Their OT came 1x only and we never heard from him again. My Mom's rehab time went longer when she could have been walking much faster if PT came enough times and more often. They should have then quickly put in a request with Medicare to continue more treatments to get her back to her old self. They never cared to even do that. Sentara home Health does this without even me asking. They gauge the status of the patient and figure it out. Pavilion doesn't have this kind of leadership. Usually the Nurse should help with this and there wasn't one. I couldn't find another agency that insurance accepted so we have had to do our own care at home. I made an appt with a wound specialist through her PCP's referral but we realized that we couldn't wait 2 weeks for that appointment and had to go to Urgent care today due to discharge from wound for the past 3 days. We learned she does have a bad infection and we don't know yet how bad, the Doctor had to prescribe antibiotics and told us ASAP we need to get the debridement appt setup with her Podiatrist or Wound Specialist. I am sharing all this because the Medical professionals at Pavilion failed They failed in having a nice process to use the allotted visits provided by Medicare and to MAKE SURE that the patient is OKAY before just not showing up. I mean who does that?

Our experience with Pavilion Medical Home Care and Staffing has been deeply disappointing and frustrating. After an executed service agreement, we entrusted them with a $3,584 deposit, hoping they could provide essential personal care support for my father, who is a quadriplegic requiring round-the-clock assistance. However, the aide they scheduled never showed up, and we were notified just 10 minutes before the start time that she was no longer available—leaving us to urgently find help on our own. Despite never receiving any services, our refund request, submitted on April 16, 2025, has gone unresolved for over 10 weeks (76 days as of this review). We have been repeatedly told that only the owner, Gibson Erhunmwunse (name is listed on the company’s website), can issue the refund check. On May 8, 2025, we were informed that he was out of the country. On June 3, 2025, we were told he would be back on June 9, 2025. Despite his return from travel weeks ago, there has been no update or reimbursement. This level of unresponsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially from a company serving vulnerable individuals in need of care. Based on our experience, we do not recommend doing business with Pavilion Medical Home Care and Staffing if you need personal care services. If you are a Kaiser Permanente patient and they direct your care to Pavilion, you have the option to request a different agency. We wish we had known this sooner as it could have avoided a lot of frustration with that side of their business as well. We hope this review, submitted on July 1, 2025, helps other families facing a similar situation with Pavilion Medical Home Care and Staffing. Update: Despite continuing to check in for about a week after submitting the review, the public response on 7/18/25, was the only formal communication indicating that our request was being addressed. The refund check finally arrived on 7/25/25, almost four weeks after posting our original review. It's important to note, however, that the refund only came after multiple outside escalations. We submitted the same review to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which prompted a notification to the contacts listed with the BBB (the President/Business Owner and Director of Operations). Additionally, we reached out to local television stations—two of which contacted Pavilion directly on our behalf. We firmly believe that without these external pressures, we would still be waiting for a response or resolution. On the insurance-directed side, we worked with our case manager to switch agencies to Virginia Healthcare Services. The difference has been night and day. Their back-office operations are efficient, staff members are responsive, and scheduling has been accurate and stress-free.

I work closely with Pavilion at my job, and they go above and beyond every single time for the patients I refer to them. I want to give a huge shout-out to Jalaine Cabell. She treats the patients like family and I feel 110% confident discharging patients into her capable hands. She truly goes above and beyond her role and has helped myself and my team so many times when we are in a pinch. I am forever grateful for her.
