I had hip replacement surgery on 11/21 and started rehabbing with Ben from Avalon during Thanksgiving week. Ben scheduled a three-week plan that allowed me to progress in building strength and stability. I “graduated” on 12/11 with the final test of driving. Ben was professional, engaging and helped me to lean-in on his experiences. I did everything he asked me to do and I am all the better for listening and executing his plan. I give highest rankings to Avalon and particularly Alex, my in-home PT. The nurse was responsive to a rash that had developed after my surgery. Alex is a star with a pleasant but direct manner. He has a way of characterizing some of the exercises prescribed after my hip replacement surgery in a way that one can remember. For example, "Smell the roses" means to breathe while exercising. His understated manner works well while increasing the number and quality of reps from session to session. He sets reasonable goals without being coach-like. Great sense of humor.
