I took my wife who has advanced dementia there as she started running a fever and becoming non-respondent. She was diagnosed with Flu Type A and septic. They admitted her. That being said the staff in the emergency room could not have been better. The nurses (Cameron, Heidi and Clay) were caring and very efficient. Dr. Johnson was very professional coming in a couple of times and explaining what was going on. The lady that did the x-rays was also very caring and professional. Melissa who rolled us to her room could not have been any more pleasant and efficient getting my wife settled in. In her room the floor nurse (Bernette) and the nurse practitioner were very caring and gathered all of the information from me as to the caring of my wife with her dementia and diabetes. Overall job well done and we are so lucky to have this facility with great staff in our small town.

My mother was brought here on 11/14. She had a stroke and on 11/15 they discarded her and gave her plavix a blood thinner. When I picked her up I could tell something was wrong. I then took her to Norfolk General Hospital. They said yes she had a stroke and has a brain bleed and admitted her to the Neuro ICU. Good thing I took her to this far superior hospital and didn’t give her more of those blood thinners which could have killed her. She is still in Norfolk General and is finally out of the NCCU.

The worst emergency room ever. If i could give 0 stars i would. Not only have I had terrible service here twice, my husband has as well. He came in today with an infected rash on his arm, they did not clean the wound or put any ointment on it or even redress it nor did they give him any instructions on how to care for it. They did however give him his first round of steroids and antibiotics but not before the nurse dropped the medicine on the floor.. very unprofessional. Sending him out the door with an estimated bill of 2k with no breakdown of services for what they actually did. This place is a huge rip off. Spend the extra time driving to a sentara, it's what we will be doing in the future.

Truly from start to finish my colonoscopy went perfect, all the check-in process, nurses care, doctors, and support staff that made my day comfortable during my procedure. Thank you all, Bon Secour Medical Center of South Hampton.

Brought my wife here after a fall in which we had concerns of a broken foot. Josphat Musapatike had x rays taken and said no break was found in the image. Then proceeded to accuse my wife of being an addict looking for pain meds. Despite the foot being severely bruised and swollen. Sent her home with crutches and no follow up. After taking her to OBICI in Suffolk 3 breaks were found and she was treated like a person with dignity. Josephat is a garbage doctor and has a sorry excuse for bedside manner that I have ever seen. Hospital board should be absolutely ashamed of hiring this person and I hope he suffers the same pain he left my wife in. Called patient advocate and calls and voice mails have all been ignored. If you have a choice between death and this hospital. You're probably better off with death. I would have never thought healthcare was worse than the VA in Hampton. But, thank you Josphat Musapatike for proving that you can be good at something. Because it is clearly not health care.
