They dropped me as a patient claiming they don't service this area. They had been treating since November. Then they said they couldn't don't any longer if I wasn't wearing a vac, so agreed and they dropped me.

My elderly family member received wound care from this agency for 3 months. They lack training and supervision for wound vacs. To make matters worse, they did not carry out the directions by the Wound Care Clinic staff on how to specifically place the dressings to make the wound vacuum work its best for faster healing. They would repeatedly do something incorrectly, usually reverting back to their original outdated training. I spoke to the Director twice and several of the nurses about the situation (as did the wound clinic staff) but it continued to be a problem. TCRHH was aware that his wound was not improving as expected, in fact barely at all, after 8 weeks of wound vac treatment. But nothing was really being done to fix it. The wound care clinic recommended we switch to another home health care agency. This agency, also based in Galax, followed the special instructions and orders from the wound care clinic and the wound healed much faster, so that after only 4 weeks, the wound vacuum was able to be removed. As far as providing other care, the nursing staff seemed very good and competent at their job. However, most of them did not seem to care or try to do things the way that was instructed or admit they didn't understand or needed help. So, our experience was overall bad and I would not recommend this agency because there is a lack of communication between everyone, constant staff turnover or re-assignment, bad management and lack of supervision and accountability.
