Lovely
I was recently a patient at Buchanan General Hospital, both in the emergency room and on third floor. The care that I received from the doctors and nurses was very good.

I don't even know where to begin.. It is the only closest hospital in our county 30 minutes verses 45 to an hour. I am so upset and discouraged. 1st let me sat I don't take my animals to Grundy to get care and I don't go to Grundy to the drs. But this hospital it sad, disgusting, un clean and unsanitary.. needless to say they let my daughter n law lay for 5 or six hours before transporting her to a hospital for better care. She had a crushed ankle. They didn't help her to the bathroom, they didn't give her ice to keep the swelling down so she could actually have surgery.. They let her lay for hours without an xray. Really wouldn't even give them a 1 star. But it doesn't surprise me. This hospital needs updating and better Administration.

I became ill while working in West Virginia and had to be rushed to the hospital. Buchanan General Hospital was the nearest hospital so I was taken there. After the doctor noticed my symptoms she began running test and realized I needed to be hospitalized so I could receive treatment and be monitored. I was a bit apprehensive about being hospitalized in another state without any family members there with me. The medical staff at Buchanan Generally removed all that anxiety within minutes. They were very accommodating and were constantly checking on me. The one thing I will remember about BGH is every person who came through my door would ask me, “Do you need anything”. That made me feel very special and comfortable being there without family. I felt a genuine sense of kindness and compassion for my health. This hospital should have 5 stars in my opinion based off the quality of service I received from the moment I walked through the door. Keep up the great work!!!

IT WAS TERRIBLE!!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING THERE. Doctors don't care nurses was terrible as soon as I came in they were trying to get me out as soon as they could I came in there because I was having stomach issues and the doctor just told me it was a pulled muscle also I told the doctor I was having severe pain in my neck spinal cord and he slight up asked what drugs I wanted like I was some kind of drug head they didn't clean my arm off before drawing blood and my family brought my mom there and they didn't have the equipment to help her and we asked them to send her to Pikeville and they refuse to do so after we asked them two and she ended up dying with a blood clot in her lung. My paw went there two to get a ingrown tonail removed and they refused to do that two my paw had to find a primary care doctor just to write him out antibiotics for his feet also not all nurses are bad there under staff anyone thinking about sending a loved on there for treatment don't they still ended up billing me even though I have medicare but that was my overall experience at that hospital.

Worse place ever!! My Mom was there. Nurses never checked on her in the 5 hrs I was there. The nurses told her if her monitor goes off to use nurse button to let them know. She did and waited 20 minutes. When ppl are sick they want care and are paying for care. No my Mom isn't on Medicaid either. I had to ask for sheets to change her bed. I cleaned up my Mom because no one had came in to assist her. She is weak and can't help herself!! I had asked for someone to please come and clean the toilet twice within an hour and was told they would let someone know both times. I think I have been patient.
