If I could give zero stars, I would, but this website made me click at least one star in order to post! My mother lives in Lynchburg and came to visit me in Louisiana this past July. She had a cardiac event at the airport and was hospitalized for 5 days, one of which was in ICU due to a subdural hematoma and fluctuating blood pressure. The doctors HERE (in Louisiana), were amazing! They got everything under control, and she came home to stay with me for a few weeks to begin her recovery until she could fly. Her home health care, both PT and OT were set up and started the very next day! After 3 weeks here, with PT, OT and some TLC, she was cleared to fly back to Lynchburg, and I flew with her. An order to continue her PT once she arrived home was sent to Centra Home Health via fax from her Neurologist here in Louisiana. It has been 3 weeks now since she arrived back in Lynchburg, and she still has not been able to start her therapy there! After multiple phone calls from me, her daughter, as well as multiple calls from the Neurology office that sent the doctor's order, she still has no PT coming to the house and it seems it will be a while before that can happen. Centra Home Health now wants her to go to her Primary Care Physician in Lynchburg because she hasn't been seen in 4 months so that HE can sign off on the doctor's order that they already have! My mother is using a walker, she is not able to drive at this time and is expected to make an appointment, that is not even available for a few weeks, just so that her PCP can sign and order that has already been made by a specialist that has already seen her!! In the meantime, she is just supposed to do whatever she can on her own to get stronger and build her strength. This is one of the most screwed up systems I have ever seen... and I'm in the healthcare field! Get it together Centra!!! If you're going to have a monopoly in the field of healthcare in the city of Lynchburg, you should provide better service for your patients!!
