We've been to Sovah Martinsville Hospital numerous times with mixed results. Tonight was the worst experience than ever. My Father-in-law recently underwent a biopsy of his lungs. Cancer in his Lymph nodes. He also has sepsis. His doctor told him to go to the Hospital and get admitted. Sepsis is serious and needed immediate attention. Well....we went and checked in to wait for triage. After two hours of waiting, I went to speak to the woman at the front desk (I didn't catch her name). I didn't know what information my Father-in-law given her. She rudely said she didn't know anything to tell me. Now, what she said wasn't rude; her demeanor and tone was. Then she rudely interrupted me as I was trying to explain that I just wanted to be sure he told her what he needed to: The Doctor said Needed Immediate Attention. That, in itself, should have been enough to check in with triage; left them the decision whether or not to prioritize to be seen by them (triage). By then, he was weak and in severe pain.

Went to the ER tonight for my right foot. After checking in I had to get my vitals done. Kody was the best. Very knowledgeable and upbeat. Wish all ER rooms had someone nice like that!

Valerie was my nurse and she was Excellent!! Very friendly and understanding. Chris and Eileen ( I think) were the Anesthesiologists and Dr Graham did the procedure. All were great. The surgical nurse I think was Cheryl. All great !! Good experience overall.

I have been a patient in the hospitals Cancer Clinic since 2012. That ought to say a lot about the staff and what they do. Professional doctors and nurses. Admin staff is superb. When you enter they greet you will a smile and care. I must point out how good the nurses are. They make me feel like I am a family member and care for me appropriately. Those who live in in this area are fortunate to have access to such an excellent facility. I have been an overnight patient in the main hospital too and my experience there was equally superb.
