As a parent with a child currently using this company, if you are considering them, be sure to stay on top of your paperwork with nursing and submissions to insurance to continue/keep your hours this definitely includes respite hours.

In May of 2023, we met with representatives from Aveanna in the NICU at CHKD hospital. One representative was showing me how to use the G-tube supplies and bringing us the items we would need at home. We were preparing for discharge. I was also informed they had a nursing program. The other representative who was with her was the inpatient representative for the nursing side. We arranged to meet at my home to go over the nursing program they offer. After choosing to go with Aveanna, I was informed they would be hiring a new nurse for our daughter. I was also told that although my child required TPN they would only be able to do non-TPN needs until they got their TPN training established. In June of 2023, I reached back out wondering why I still didn’t have a nurse. We qualified for 125 hours and I was exhausted. I was told they were still attempting and couldn’t find a nurse. I informed the representative that we were getting set up with hospice home care to do the lab draws at home. I desperately needed a nurse. In August I was told they were still looking. Come October I was so worn down and getting 1-2 hours of sleep a night. I reached out to them and asked what was going on. They said, “Oh I thought you had a nurse so we stopped looking.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I started to cry and asked, “If I bring a nurse to you will you hire her for me?” I got a callback and confirmed they would hire a nurse I brought to them. I found a nurse who needed a different schedule and agreed to work with us. She was our primary nurse in the NICU. Aveanna Interviewed her and hired her. The nurse and I were both under the impression that she would be starting within 2 weeks. She went to her orientation and they offered her a chance to interview for management. Knowing this later I asked her if they would let her be manager part-time and our nurse that she should interview. We are a military family and knowing she had a job she could do after we got new orders seemed perfect. We were both informed she could do both so she decided to do the interview. A month went by with No nurse. I called and kept getting a voicemail. My nurse also never heard anything. I went online to find an office number to figure out what the issue was. I talked to Deshaun who was in charge of the entire office. He informed me my case was put on hold. They were not looking for a nurse for me and until they decided if they were going to hire my nurse as a manager, I would not be receiving a nurse. I was told she was not allowed to do both positions and I would have to wait longer. I felt completely blindsided. They decided to take the nurse I brought to them and I was without a nurse again. Come January of 2024 Aveanna decided to not hire the nurse I brought to them for their office manager. I called them and asked them when we were supposed to start services. 2 weeks later, we were in the hospital with rhinovirus and an infection. While in the hospital, I received a voicemail saying they were no longer to assist me with nurse care. When I called back I was informed they can’t take TPN clients on and they had already offered my RN ,who I brought to them, another position with another family. Her now being out of a job for four months, had no choice but to accept it. 9 Months later they wasted our time and only pretended to help us again once they heard I had a nurse for them to hire, I sit here with no nurse and the company is no longer helping us. The moment the nurse was ready to go and not being hired as a manager was when they closed our case. Here I am in February 2024 still without a nurse. I do TPN, G-tube, Ostomy changes, Sterile Dressing changes, and more. I am happy I was able to learn and take care of my daughter, but my emotions are distraught by what this company did to my family and I.
