Absolutely Terrible! As a social worker I have to say that whoever the woman was (owner/boss) whatever, that answered the phone at 3:15 p.m today was the absolute most unprofessional person ever I have spoken to as a medical care provider. My ill, elderly mother who is in her 80s was released from the hospital last week. She received a referral for home healthcare from Americare. I called them today a week later simply to initiate my moms home healthcare services just to be met by the rudest most unhelpful lady ever. She said someone had left a voicemail this past Monday on my moms phone, which my mother (being very ill) must have missed. When I explained the situation and told her that that is why I, as her only child who lives with her wanted to set up the appointment and possibly either add my number or be the intermediary was then literally asked in exact words, "So what do you want me to do?" I reiterated that , "I just wanted to Iinitiate her home healthcare. She then told me that because my mom didnt answer the phone that time or 2 on that 1 day that they could pretty much not work with us unless I lived there and would be there for all of her appts which again I reiterated that Yes, I live with her AND I can make her afternoon appts since I work in the mornings. She then proceeded to say that they wont always have afternoon appointments. I was so nice, kind, gentle and patient throughout the call, and just could not fathom where this attitude was coming from. It was like every remark of hers, was trying to find a way to either not initiate or even attempt to complete this referral attempt. I dont know if she was just having a bad day or sinply couldnt care less about how she represents Americare. If it was THAT AWFUL in just the first phone call trying to set up her service I am so glad that we will not be using them. Very dissapointing and will definitely be providing this feedback to INOVA's discharge department and above because that is not how a referred client or her family should be treated.

This company has been unbearable to work with, they do not treat the patients like human beings. From abusive phone calls from the nurse, no call, no shows. My family was prescribed 2-3 visits per week and for 30 days we received 1. They do not care for the elderly, it has been harder to deal with them than it is to take off work and provide the services myself. If you care about your loved ones please do not place the vounrable population in their hands. When you call scheduling to ask why no one has come out they, say they have no clue. Each nurse and aid are subcontractors who receive no oversight...my mother hasn't been seen in 30 days and they had no clue, which makes me think of how they are billing insurance for this lack of care and customer service. I recommend you have RING DOOR CAMERAS and one in the home for these people if you continue to use them. It is VERY SEEDY unorganized, careless and COLD!!! STAY AWAY and keep an eye on your loved ones, very unprofessional and inhumane.

We had a wonderful nurse come out to assist us with my father's transition to homecare. Fariba was so patient and guided me throughout the process of how to use the tube feeding properly. She went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable administering the tube. Without her guidance, I would not have felt confident to do the task correctly. Kudos to her professionalism and friendliness.

Our experience with Americare has been the worst possible experience. Even if this were not a home health care business, I would be writing this review. Shame on this place for treating people horribly at the end of their lives. From the beginning the nurse assigned, Isla, didn’t show and didn’t call. We had to get the office to track her down. She finally came on a Saturday. On that day she said she would be visiting once a week on Thursdays. That was February 12th. Today is February 25th and she still hasn’t called or come by to check on my mother. That is non-compliance with the law. We’ve called the office several times, each time we were told they would look into it and call back. We have never received a return call. Today I spoke with the supervisor, Kathy, (after waiting on hold for 11 minutes) and she had very little to say. It was almost if she had no idea what to do. Trust me, if your loved one needs home health services, do not use these people.

I just had hip replacement surgery and received home physical therapy with Hassan from Americare. Top notch. He was courteous, friendly, punctual and Proffessional. His instructions were clear and concise, regarding exercises and he monitored many aspects of my recovery, which was of great assistance in my post-surgical ‘fog’. With each session, I felt that he pushed me just hard enough to make progress but never so hard as to cause me any discomfort. It was reassuring that he was following a computerized protocol, as well. When I started my outpatient physical therapy, they told me that I was ‘ahead of schedule’ in strength and flexibility and, no doubt, Hassan’s expert care contributed. Very happy.
