We have received such excellent care from the therapists from Signature Health who have helped my 90 year old mother-in-law after her injuries from a fall. I specifically wanted to take a minute to thank one very special part of the team, Carsten Neumiller, one of Signature Health’s Physical Therapists. ​I had hired a new caregiver, who was not assisting with the therapy and following through with the daily prescribed exercises if my mother-in-law made even the slightest comment about being tired or having a headache. This caregiver was content to leave my mother-in-law in bed and just sit next to her and read to her. She didn’t even get her out of bed to eat, which left her vulnerable to choking, as she does when not sitting up properly. In addition, this caregiver did not help her do her prescribed exercises. ​I tried pointing out to this caregiver the difference in my mother-in-law's improved pain levels, breathing ability, and overall participation in wanting to participate in activities because she feels better once she is out of bed and sitting upright. ​Carsten was able to assess the situation and address the problem with his cheerful disposition. He directed the caregiver to keep my mother-in-law focused by encouraging her to get out of bed and motivate her into doing some form of the assigned exercises everyday, even if she was having a difficult time getting started. He explained that if she doesn’t have a consistent exercise routine, her legs won’t get strong enough to help prevent another potential fall. ​We recorded that day's session to use as training for all of the caregivers, so the exercises can be done accurately and consistently over all shifts. The videos are available to look back on if more training is needed again in the future. ​Thanks to Carsten’s intervention, this caregiver now sees the difference in encouraging my mother-in-law to actually get out of bed and move around on a daily basis. Each day is different and may not include every prescribed activity, but as long as she does some form of activity out of bed, it is a positive step. This has resulted in my mother-in-law feeling better and actually wanting to stay out of bed and work on projects. The difference in my mother-in-law's demeanor and ability to actively participate in her remaining exercises was remarkable. ​I have seen an improvement in both the caregiver’s attitude and my mother-in-law’s increasing stability and leg strength when standing and walking. She is no longer shaky and unsteady, even if she needs a bit of assistance in first getting out of bed. ​Thanks to Carsten, I now have hope that I can count on this caregiver to help my mother-in-law continue her journey towards regaining leg strength to prevent any potential future falls.

Was given a few options for home health. Talked with them all and I just got a good feeling with Signature Home Health so I went with them. I am so glad I did. They helped my Dad and I so much with services. We couldn’t have achieved the help we got on our own. They are amazing. They know what they are doing.
