I have been thinking about this review for almost three months as the investigation in to me from Adult Protective Services slowly made it's way to the finish line with a complete exoneration to the accusations from Sunshine Home Health. These people came in to my home for less than a week and reported me to APS for "Neglecting" my dad. I will point out it was news to my dad that he had been neglected. My dad had just moved in to my house, I was NOT his caregiver and he was in full control of his life with my assistance. I was never once part of a care meeting, therapy session or anything. My dad was in full control of his faculties and asked me to do lots of things, which I did. I work a full time job and was NOT my dad's caregiver at the time. He was in fine shape and again, if he needed anything from me he would ask, and ask he did. We fully outfitted his unit in my lower level with a walk in shower, grab bars, toilet riser, ramps etc. I had taken care of my mom who died in Feb from advanced dementia as her only caregiver in that same lower level unit. That was literally why I bought this house. I had so many home health companies come and help and I never once heard anything but, "you take good care of your mother". She went on Hospice and was bed ridden for almost 7 months while I took care of her with the help of Spokane Hospice. They were fantastic and I never saw a single note that didn't say the I took great care of my poor mom. Having these people make such awful allegations has done so much harm to my mental health and family as I continue to take care of my dad who is in much worse shape after a series of terrible nursing homes. Sunshine wastes valuable resources from APS with these attacks. There are other reviews that say the same thing. The CEO of Sunshine did a letter to the editor in the Spokesman talking about the hero caregivers who take care of their family. What a joke. I personally feel like this report had more to do with my pride flag than anything else. In short, DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE INSIDE YOUR HOME!!!! There are so many other really good options but this is not one of them.

My mom had Centerwell home health after a hip replacement several years ago. They were awesome. The case manager was there within 24 hours. Her therapy started within a few days. Because of that experience I was confident that I could forgo inpatient rehab and get started on home PT and OT for my hip replacement recovery. I am a week post op from my hip replacement. I am 5 days post discharge from the hospital. A nurse did come go over what was ordered. She suggested that I just get ideas from family and friends instead of the ordered OT. She said that PT should be getting ahold of me the following day. That was 3 days ago. We are now going into the weekend. Radio silence. Is this what health care is now or is it just this way at Sunshine home health? When did YouTube become a replacement for physical therapy?

I can't believe this shows a 3.3 rating. In 2019 I had a huge infection on my spine, spent a week in the hospital followed by Sunshine at home. My nurse was always a phone call away, ready to come any time. Very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. My PT was there 3X week for an hour + , also leaving instructions of what and how to do daily. ALL doctor, lab work, follow-ups, etc were taken care of by the Sunshine staff. After 6 months I only needed to have them on-call, it took almost a full year to get off the pik IV, they still checked on me in that timeme period. Sunshine was my lifeline, thank you all. It took a long time to heal 5 or 6 months but I consider myself very lucky to of had Sunshine Home Health come into my home. Its amazing what these nurses do the community is very lucky to have this service.

If there was a way to give no stars, I would have given this company a zero. A registered nurse called my house on Easter Sunday at 4 pm to schedule a visit for less than 24 hours away. As if that wasn't disrespectful enough, she showed up late Monday and I had fallen asleep in the chair waiting for her. She claims she knocked on my door and rang the doorbell, but I didn't move. Again, this is a registered nurse. She walked back to her car and left. She didn't call my emergency contact person or a paramedic. What if something serious had caused me to not wake up? She felt no obligation to help. When I called her supervisor, she defended the actions. It appears the lack of safe care is a companywide problem. Don't use this company, it's just not safe.
